Ask which lot the assay covers, how the sample was prepared and which methods were used. A hand-selected specimen is not a substitute for an agreed shipment sampling basis.
Define acceptance and rejection limits
Identify the buyer’s limits for other constituents. For concentrate, discuss how the receiving plant will handle material outside the agreed specification.
Agree the weight and settlement basis
Clarify whether quoted tonnage is wet or dry, how moisture is determined and what price adjustments or deductions apply under the proposed contract.

Can zinc ore be used directly for galvanizing?
Galvanizing uses zinc metal, not unprocessed zinc ore. Ore or concentrate must pass through the appropriate extraction and refining steps before zinc reaches this use.
Is a higher zinc assay always the better offer?
The assay is one consideration. A buyer also needs to assess material form, other constituents, moisture, processing suitability and the agreed commercial terms.
