Finished drilling-fluid powder and raw ore have different acceptance criteria. Select the relevant product below.
Barite powder
Weighting material for oilfield drilling fluids, supplied in API 13A 4.1 and 4.2 density grades. Request the laboratory report and certificate of analysis to assess the material against your specification.
Confirm the selected grade against your drilling-fluid requirements.
| Density | 4.20 g/mL minimum |
|---|---|
| Soluble alkaline-earth metals Expressed as calcium | 250 mg/kg maximum |
| Particles above 75 μm | 3% by mass maximum |
| Particles below 6 μm Equivalent spherical diameter | 30% by mass maximum |
Specification limits, not a batch test result. Review the relevant COA before purchase.
Standard reference & grade guidance
API Specification 13A, 19th Edition, with Addenda 1 and 2 and Errata 1. API notes that the 4.1 grade may not suit higher mud weights without a performance evaluation against 4.2 grade. These are selected requirements; the complete specification and applicable tests govern conformity.

Barite ore sourced and assessed against agreed requirements. Grade segregation, moisture control and source traceability support a more predictable feedstock for downstream processing.
Discuss your required density, assay, sizing and quantity with our technical team.
Source control comes first
- Required density and mineral assay
- Agreed moisture and sizing criteria
- Quantity and delivery destination
- Source and batch documentation
Ore is supplied for processing. Finished drilling-grade powder requirements are assessed separately.

We assess material before it enters the supply stream
Our source controls include field testing, screening, grade segregation, moisture management and traceability. Off-spec material is rejected or quarantined at source.
Sourcing includes the Wase region of Plateau State. Geologists, mining engineers and exploration specialists bring technical judgement to material assessment.

Practical answers before you prepare an enquiry.
Can I request a laboratory report and COA?
Yes. Recent laboratory reports and certificates of analysis are available on request. Specify powder or ore and, for powder, the required density grade.
Does the API powder specification apply to raw ore?
Raw ore is supplied for processing against an agreed ore specification. Finished powder conformity is evaluated separately against the applicable drilling-fluid material requirements.
When does the delivery period begin?
Our stated delivery period across Nigeria is 2–3 days from loading. Availability and the loading date are agreed with the order.
Are extended payment terms available?
Payment flexibility up to 60 days can be discussed when required, subject to the agreed commercial arrangement.
